About me…

My name is Reverend Beck Newell, and I am a priest in The Diocese of The Murray. I’m currently serving as Curate in the Parish of Western Flueireu, which includes St Nicholas’ Seaford (Seaford Christian Churches), St Margaret’s Mc Laren Vale, St Ann’s Aldinga, St Stephen’s Willunga, and Christ Church Yankalilla. I commenced this role in November of 2025, shortly after I was ordained as priest in October of 2025. My deaconing was a year earlier, in November 2024.

I am a mum of four, grandmother of three, and married to my husband Jason who is my absolute rock. His unwavering support, and taking on the role of running our household, means that I am able to do the work I do. I, our four children, and one of our grandchildren have autism diagnoses. This comes with considerable challenges, which make life quite eventful. However, it also makes us the people we are, so I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I am a cradle Anglican, and throughout life my faith has always been extremely important to me. I first felt the call to ordained ministry at seventeen, but I think I knew from eight years old that my life would involve dedication to the Church. It was a long, and sometimes very difficult, path to get to where I am today. But God has been a constant guide. And at times a rather forceful director! All of it has brought me here, with the life experiences and knowledge I have learned along the way, and I value every step. Especially the difficult times. Because they, most of all, have taught me to rely completely on our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
